The Fort Worth ISD is offering a new channel of communication free to parents, students, employees and the community at-large, the Fort Worth ISD Mobile App. The app provides important news and student information, literally, at the user’s fingertips. Important school and District updates, grades, lunch money accounts, and the District’s social media sites are all included in this smart phone app. Over 58,000 people have downloaded the free mobile app.
The app is available in 70 different languages.
Only parents or guardians who previously enrolled for online services such Parent Portal or My School Bucks will have access to student-specific accounts. But anyone else can still use the new FWISD Mobile App to access important District and campus news, find school and department phone numbers and check sport scores.
“The mobile app will also send important voice messages to a queue in a parent’s smart phone,” said Clint Bond, director of external and emergency communications. “This way, parents will be able to review messages on their time, without being interrupted.”
The Fort Worth Independent School District Mobile App is available on the Apple App Store for iPhone users. Android users can find it on the Google Play Store. The District has partnered with is mass communications vendor, ParentLink, to create this free application.
An instruction sheet for signing-up for school specific news is included.
