  • Schedule Changes


    Student schedule change forms will be issued by your first period teachers on the first day of school. The scheduled change forms will be printed on green paper, and will also be available in the counselors’ office.  Student schedule changes will start to be processed by the counselors on the third day of school.  Schedule changes will take approximately 10 days to complete. Students have 10 days to submit a schedule change request. Students please continue to go to your scheduled class until you are brought a new schedule. If you do not continue to go to your scheduled class you will be counted absent and that absence will transfer to your new scheduled classes. Students please remember that not all schedule changes will be processed.


    Students cannot request a schedule change for the following reasons:


    • Teacher Change
    • Period Change
    • AP, PreAp, Dual Credit etc- Student must see Ms. Alejandro 
    • AVID- Must see Mrs. Hendrix
    • I don't like this class

    Drawing items will be available – FREE: prom ticket, yearbook, fall senior fee, spring senior fee, spirit wear
    Parents must be in attendance for students to be eligible for drawing
  • Registration Update:

    Please remember all students must register online. If needed, we will have labs to help you complete your online registration.

    Monday, August 6 and Tuesday, August 7 from 9:00 am - 4:00 pm: New FWISD students only please

    Wednesday, August 8 from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm: Freshman Orientation. Please have your student take advantage of this opportunity to get familiar with Southwest.

    Thursday, August 9 and Friday, August 10 from 9:00 am - 4:00 pm: All returning students may come to the school to pick up schedules, get ID pictures taken, sign up for athletics and Southwest PTSA.

    Please be aware of the following changes for this upcoming school year:

    1. All students must register on-line at This link is on the FWISD web page under the Families tab and located in the online registration and enrollment link.

    2. Please help spread the work that students new to FWISD will have to register their child on-line prior to the student being able to attend classes in the fall semester. If you need assistance with new student registration the school will have computer labs open and counselors available Monday August 6th and Tuesday August 7th.

    3. Freshman Transition Camp-Wednesday, August 8th we will have our 9th grade transition camp from 9-12. Please allow your student to participate in this camp so that they will be more familiar with school and student expectations.

    4. Returning students can come either Thursday August 9th or Friday August 10th from 9-4 to pick up their schedule, have their ID made, join our PTSA(cool new spirit wear just 20.00) sign up for athletics and have an opportunity to make scheduling changes. Please be reminded that you should have completed the on-line returning student registration prior to coming to pick up your students schedule.

    5. Students will only be allowed 9 total absences per semester. Students missing more days may not receive credit for the course even if they received a passing numerical score. Attendance will be very closely monitored.

    6. Late work will NOT be accepted in AP or Dual Credit Courses for the 2018-19 school year. Students in all other classes only have 3 days beyond the due date to turn in an assignment. Each day an assignment is late students will be penalized 10 points.

    7. Please make sure if you plan to play a fall sport you have completed your required paperwork necessary to play. Please see Coach Goebel for all male sports and Coach Lee for all female sports. Football will begin practice on August 13th.

    Families – We have reopened the PowerSchool Registration process. PowerSchool has assured us they have made improvements and your online experience should be better.
  • Attention Athletes:


    ALL incoming ninth graders that want to play football need to report to the fieldhouse Monday Morning, August 6th at 8:45 a.m..


    There will be a mandatory Football parent meeting at Southwest in the library on Aug 10th at 6:30 p.m..
