Paschal High School Student Wins National Girls Inc. Scholarship

Valeria Venegas won a $10,000 Girls Inc. scholarship to help her on her journey to becoming a Physician Assistant.

The Paschal High School senior won a $10,000 national scholarship from Girls Inc., a nonprofit organization that helps teach young women and girls leadership skills.

The highly competitive scholarship goes to students who embody the mission of the organization — to be strong, smart, and bold.

For four years, Valeria has worked incredibly hard in both the classroom and her community — and it was worth it. Fort Worth ISD is proud of her accomplishments and the esteemed opportunities she earned through it all.

Valeria is very involved in both her campus and the Fort Worth community. She is a member of Key Club, Hispanic Society Club, Yearbook, and is a four-time district champion on the swim team. On top of her studies and extracurricular activities, she volunteers at Cook Children’s, Taste Project, and Girls Inc.

As one of only 11 Red Coat members of Girls Inc. in the U.S. and Canada, Valeria mentors young girls on STEM topics and is a National Brand Ambassador.

The scholarship means a lot to her and her family, she said. And it was a great reward for years of hard work.

Most importantly, it will help her earn her college education. In the fall, Valeria plans to attend St. Francis University. There, she will be part of an exclusive Physician Assistant program, only 50 spots are available. Congratulations, Valeria!
