Statement from Board President Roxanne Martinez
The Fort Worth ISD Board of Trustees remains steadfast in its commitment to ensuring strong and effective leadership for our district. In October 2024, the Board appointed an Interim Superintendent to provide continuity and stability during this transitional period.
On Tuesday, January 21 the Board unanimously approved moving forward with the process for selecting a permanent Superintendent. The position will be posted on January 23 for ten days on the district’s website and on statewide job boards. The Board will conduct the search and anticipates reviewing applications shortly after the posting closes.
This process, guided by the authority granted to the Board under Sections 11.1513 and 11.201 of the Texas Education Code, is a critical step in identifying a highly qualified and dedicated leader to guide Fort Worth ISD forward. By moving thoughtfully and decisively, we aim to have a permanent Superintendent in place to support a successful start to the upcoming school year and to ensure that our district continues to meet the needs of our students, staff, and community.
We thank our community for their ongoing support and engagement as we work together to secure a bright future for Fort Worth ISD.
