Adolescent Pregnancy Services

Offered through the Student Wellbeing Department, Fort Worth ISD’s Adolescent Pregnancy Services (APS), also referred to as Project Reach, has supported Fort Worth ISD’s pregnant and parenting students since 1986, helping them stay in school and graduate.
APS is available to any student—male or female—who is currently enrolled or eligible to enroll in Fort Worth ISD, voluntarily agrees to participate, and has parent or guardian consent. The program ensures students receive the guidance and support they need to continue their education in a nurturing environment.
Services are provided on the student’s home campus and may include:
- Prenatal and parenting education
- Life skills introduction
- Individual and peer counseling
- Academic monitoring
- Referrals to additional sources
Students experiencing pregnancy-related absences may also qualify for Compensatory Education Home Instruction (CEHI), allowing them to continue learning from home.
Additional services may include (as funding allows and in accordance with Texas Education Code Sec. 29.085):
- Career counseling and job readiness training
- Temporary childcare assistance
- Transportation assistance
- Instruction in child development, parenting, and family living
- Support accessing prenatal and postnatal health and nutrition programs
To access APS, students should speak with their campus nurse, counselor or interventionist for a referral.
