About the Mascot Guide

Browse the interactive Mascot Guide above for a walk-through of our 120+ campus brands.

Schools are organized by pyramid (feeder pattern), with the top of the pyramid being the high school that the elementary and middle schools feed into.

The files found below are organized by the campus's 3-digit ID number, which is found in the Mascot Guide.

Did my school’s colors change?

Perhaps, but only slightly! Some colors have shifted to be more consistent with the pyramid as a whole, and others needed corrections.

File Types

.PNG is for web.

PNGs are intended for online use and have a transparent background. The files below are high resolution and will work great for home and office printing, although a professional printer will ask you for a vector file.

PDF / Vector is for professional printing.

The PDF files below are vector files. Vendors ask for this file type because it has accurate colors and can be scaled up or down infinitely. A professional printer can open PDFs in design software to access what they need.

Vendors may not alter our mascots or create new mascots without the involvement and approval of the FWISD Communications team.

Athletics-specific mascots are included in the Mascot Guide above and in Supplemental Materials below, if they differ from the campus's primary brand.

If a vendor needs more resources, please direct them to reach out to us at branding@fwisd.org.

About new mascots

We create new mascots for schools on a case-by-case basis. We consider community input (especially for a new school), campus tradition, and the age of your students in the decision to create or change a mascot.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it

There are sometimes very good reasons to look at “evolving” a design, such as messy artwork or offensive imagery. But in most situations, we discourage a redesign in the absense of a substantial reason for the change.

We discourage a mascot redesign due to a leadership change at the campus because often, a mascot or crest provides historical and cultural context that can be a source of strength and continuity during a time of transition. Consider also the financial burden of a branding change. We weigh all of these factors carefully to decide if a rebrand is advisable.

Avoid trademark issues

We avoid mascots that are already owned: professional sports teams, universities, cartoon characters, etc.

Be patient

Since your mascot will be a unique piece of art specifically created for your school, please understand that it takes time, lots of conversation, and multiple revisions to result in a finished piece that we are all excited about and proud to use for many years!

Fill out a creative request form on the Communications webpage to let us know your issues.

Extra Materials

Some schools have extra versions of their mascot or an athletics-only mark, and others only have one image. We are in the process of cleaning up older supplemental files. The folders to the right are complete.

If your campus is missing images, please email us at branding@fwisd.org
