Preparing Students for a Physically Literate Life

High-quality physical education helps students build the knowledge, skills, confidence, and motivation they need to live active, healthy lives.  Through developmentally appropriate, research-based instruction, students develop physical literacy, lifelong wellness habits, and a positive attitude toward movement, fitness, and overall well-being. Physical literacy means having the confidence and ability to participate in a wide variety of physical activities, across different settings, now and throughout life. The Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills and the National Physical Education Standards are embedded into the physical education curriculum
