Our Schools

Services

What services or resources are available to my child through the H.E.L.P. program?

Our program members want to work with you to ensure your child does not experience any barriers to continuing their education.  Unhoused children and youth are guaranteed the following supports:

  • Enrollment assistance - ensuring the school of origin or school of location provides immediate enrollment, even if documents that are usually required are not readily available
  • Free school meals - automatic eligibility for any nutrition services available at school
  • Clothing - assistance with uniforms and emergency clothing
  • School supplies - basic supplies, including a backpack if needed
  • Transportation to school - this could be to the school of origin (where the child was enrolled prior to becoming homeless) or the school of location (based on current residency)

NOTE- Transportation is provided on a case-by-case basis according to certain criteria, if feasible and in the best interest of the student. It must be                     requested through the H.E.L.P. Program*

  • Graduation assistance - cap and gown for graduation ceremony, if funds are available
