Innovation & School Choice

Through the Call for Great Schools, the Fort Worth ISD (FWISD) seeks to dramatically improve student outcomes, broaden educational talent and provide a variety of student-centered options for families and school communities.

To increase the number of high-quality options for families, the Innovation & School Choice office is requesting proposals from qualified entities seeking to provide engaging learning environments and launch a new school model or redesign an existing school through the district-authorized partnership process. 

Guided by the FWISD mission of “preparing all students for success in college, career and community leadership," the Call for Great Schools creates new opportunities for student and family success.

FWISD welcomes the following applicant types:

• Non-profits
• Institutes of Higher Education
• Existing Charter Operators
• Governmental Entities

Notice of Intent to Apply Due Dates:

• October 9, 2026 for a 2027-28 SY launch
• October 30, 2026 for a 2028-29 SY launch

Application Due Dates:

• October 30, 2026 for a 2027-28 SY launch
• December 15, 2026 for a 2028-29 SY launch
