Fort Worth Independent School District
School Library Advisory Council
The School Library Advisory Council (SLAC) was created in accordance with Texas Senate Bill 13 to help guide how new school library materials are selected and reviewed. The council, made up primarily district appointees, reviews proposed titles, considers public feedback, and makes recommendations to the Board of Trustees, which has final approval.
Library Materials Under Consideration
Before new titles are purchased for school libraries, they are posted here for a 30-day public review period. During that time, families and community members can review titles and submit questions or objections using the feedback form on this page.

Share Feedback on Materials Under Consideration
Families and community members may use this form to submit questions, concerns, or objections about specific titles listed in the “Library Materials Under Consideration” section. Submissions are sent to the School Library Advisory Council and district staff for review. Feedback received during the 30-day review period will be considered before SLAC makes its recommendation to the Board.
