Office of Student Discipline

Office of Student Discipline at Fort Worth ISD helps campuses interpret and apply the Student Code of Conduct fairly and consistently. Hearing officers work to determine the least restrictive disciplinary options for students, including eligibility for the Accountability and Intervention Response (AIR) Program, which may serve as an alternative to placement in a disciplinary setting. The department also provides regular data reports to schools to help reduce suspensions and expulsions and maintain instructional continuity for students facing disciplinary action.

In addition to overseeing alternative education placements, the department supports initiatives like on-campus interventions, diversionary action plans, and due process hearings. It also manages oversight of contract campuses, including juvenile justice and residential treatment facilities. FWISD embraces equitable practices district-wide, aiming to reduce out-of-school suspensions and address disproportionality in discipline.
