On any given day, approximately 16,000 school-aged children and youth in Texas schools are in foster care. While they represent a small portion of the overall student population, these students face distinct and often profound challenges that can significantly affect their educational success.

Our department provides dedicated support and services to foster children and youth enrolled at Fort Worth ISD, with the goal of ensuring educational stability and success.

Student Welcome Packet - Welcome packets must be provided to students who are experiencing homelessness or living in foster care within the first two weeks of enrollment. If your campus needs extra folders, please contact Itzia Oscos at 817-814-2875.

Enrollment Conference- Enrollment conferences with a student who is experiencing homelessness or is living in foster care must be completed within the first two weeks after the student is identified as homeless or in foster care.
