Background/Fingerprinting

Every person who wishes to serve as an employee, volunteer, contractor, or any other person who will have contact with students shall have a criminal history search performed. The 80th Texas Legislature passed Senate Bill 9 (SB9), which mandated the Texas Education Agency (TEA) to acquire criminal history through fingerprint submission on

• All certified educators who are currently employees
• All substitutes
• Non-certified employees hired after January 1, 2008.
• Contractors

Fort Worth ISD offers on-side Fingerprinting Service by appointment only for candidates who are required to complete this step as part of the district's background check process. Appointments must be scheduled in advance. Walk-in are not accepted.
