Classroom Observers

Thank you for partnering with the Fort Worth Independent School District for your university program requirements. Fort Worth ISD welcomes student observers during the fall and spring semesters. We encourage student observers to come and see how Fort Worth ISD can be the perfect place to complete student teaching. The goal for our student observers is to one day be a classroom teacher in the great FWISD!

Individuals seeking classroom observations hours must be one of the following:

  • Currently enrolled in a teacher degree program at a four-year college or university
  • Currently enrolled in an alternative certification program.

 

Application for Classroom Observers in Fort Worth ISD

Thank you for your interest in completing Clinical Student Teaching or Classroom Observations with Fort Worth ISD for the 2026-2027 school year.

Getting Started

To begin the process, you must meet one of the following requirements:

  • Be listed on a roster submitted by your Educator Preparation Program (EPP), or
  • Submit a request letter from your EPP by email to nadia.arriaga@fwisd.org.

Important Note: Due to the high volume of requests, specific campus observation placements cannot be requested. Once a school or teacher is assigned, observation placements cannot be changed.

Next Steps

1. Submit Application and Request Form.

2. Watch for Forms via Email and Complete Promptly
    Within a few days of submitting your application, you will receive two emails from Mailbot:

  • Acknowledgment Form
  • Background Clearance Form
    • Background checks may take 7–10 business days, so timely submission is essential.

3. Receive Your Clearance Letter
Once both forms are completed and your background check is cleared, you will receive a Clearance Letter via email from Mailbot.

  • Download and bring this letter on your first day of field experience.
  • The letter is only available for download for 10 days. After that time, access will expire and you will need to email nadia.arriaga@fwisd.org to request a new copy.

4. Placement Information
Placement details will be emailed once your background check is cleared and a campus placement has been secured.
