Classroom Observers
Fort Worth ISD welcomes classroom observers during the fall and spring semesters, providing future educators the opportunity to learn from experienced teachers and explore FWISD as a student teaching and employment destination.
Eligibility
You must be enrolled in:
- A teacher preparation program at an accredited college or university, or
- An approved alternative certification program.
Placement Requests
- Placements are limited and assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Requests must be submitted through Talent Management.
- Requests submitted directly to campuses or teachers will not be accepted.
- Summer observation placements are not available.
Observation Request Deadlines
- Fall Semester: October 1
- Spring Semester: March 1
Getting Started
To request an observation placement, you must:
- Be included on a roster submitted by your Educator Preparation Program (EPP), or
- Submit a request letter from your EPP to observations@fwisd.org.
Complete:
- The Clinical Student Teacher and Classroom Observation Application
- The Observation Placement Request Form
Next Steps
- Watch for two forms sent via email: the Acknowledgment Form and Background Clearance Form.
- Background checks may take 7 to 10 business days. Prompt submission is recommended.

Once cleared, you will receive a Clearance Letter by email. Bring this letter on your first day of observation.

Please note that the letter is available for download for 10 days only and can be downloaded only when you first open the email. Once access expires, you will need to contact observations@fwisd.org to request a new copy.
- Placement details will be emailed after your background check is approved and a placement is secured.
Important Information
- Specific campus or teacher requests cannot be accommodated.
- Once assigned, observation placements cannot be changed.
