Welcome to 4th grade! My name is José Carranza, like your child I too attended FWISD. After graduating from Paschal High School I attended The University of Texas at Arlington where I studied Bilingual Education. I am currently working towards a master's degree from UTA.

I'm a funny person that gets along with everybody. I like to have fun and make everyone around me have fun too. I like helping, and the education field is where a lot of help can be given to so many students at once.

I am glad to be on my 5th year here at Diamond Hill Elementary and I look forward to a very productive year full of many accomplishments.

Welcome students and families!

Two years ago I decided to move to Fort Worth, Texas to pursue my passion for education as a classroom teacher. Previous to working at DHE, I worked at Como Elementary here in FWISD. Before then, I had been living in North Carolina for more than half of my life, where I also went to college and graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel-Hill (UNC). I am also a first-generation college graduate. Education was the gateway that allowed me to discover my potential and opened up opportunities to improve my future and my family's. I believe that just like it did for me, education can open many doors and pathways to each one of my students to grow and chose the type of life they would like to live whether this is inside or outside of the classroom. Education can be the beginning to discovering, growing and exploring all that life has to offer for each one of them. Outside of the classroom, some of my hobbies include cooking and doing outdoor activities.

I am excited to get the opportunity to work with each and every one of you! It is a privilege for me to be your teacher and I will ensure to provide us with the tools to be successful this year. I look forward to all of us (students and families) working together to grow and achieve our full potential. I hope that throughout this year we will learn to be better thinkers, readers, writers and team-players. Get ready because we are on our way to greatness! Si se puede!
