I was born and raised in Laredo, Texas where I graduated from Texas A&M International University. I worked at the Laredo Morning Times for 10 years and it was through working there that I had the opportunity to work with several non-profit organizations such as March of Dimes, United Way, and American Cancer Society where I chaired a Relay for Life. In working with the Laredo Chamber of Commerce and a program called Youth Leadership Laredo, it was that I found my calling in working with educating our future. I enrolled in an Alternative Certification Program and my journey began.

Education is important to me because growing up, my parents told me that throughout my life things could be taken away from me, but that education never would. I want to give our scholars something that they can hang onto...a life long desire for knowledge, a sense of curiosity and the want to pay it forward.

Parents, thank you for entrusting your children and their future. You are your child's first teacher and I thank you ahead of time for the support. Students, I love you because you are you. My dreams for you extend beyond the four walls of our classroom; do your best in all you do!

Welcome students and families!

Two years ago I decided to move to Fort Worth, Texas to pursue my passion for education as a classroom teacher. Previous to working at DHE, I worked at Como Elementary here in FWISD. Before then, I had been living in North Carolina for more than half of my life, where I also went to college and graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel-Hill (UNC). I am also a first-generation college graduate. Education was the gateway that allowed me to discover my potential and opened up opportunities to improve my future and my family's. I believe that just like it did for me, education can open many doors and pathways to each one of my students to grow and chose the type of life they would like to live whether this is inside or outside of the classroom. Education can be the beginning to discovering, growing and exploring all that life has to offer for each one of them. Outside of the classroom, some of my hobbies include cooking and doing outdoor activities.

I am excited to get the opportunity to work with each and every one of you! It is a privilege for me to be your teacher and I will ensure to provide us with the tools to be successful this year. I look forward to all of us (students and families) working together to grow and achieve our full potential. I hope that throughout this year we will learn to be better thinkers, readers, writers and team-players. Get ready because we are on our way to greatness! Si se puede!

I was born in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua and was fortunate to immigrate to Fort Worth at a young age. I attended Fort Worth ISD schools growing up, and graduated from R.L. Paschual High School in 2004. I am blessed to have graduated from Texas Tech with my bachelors in education. I am also honored to work at the best school with the best staff!
