I was born in Los Angeles, California, but grew up in Tijuana, Mexico. I moved to Texas with my family when I was 9 years old. I graduated from UTA with a bachelors and from Tarelton State University with my masters degree in counseling. I have been teaching for 7 years. I enjoy working and helping my community.

I am originally from Zacatecas, Mexico. I have taught 5th grade for 6 years. I graduated from The University of Texas at Arlington. I love my family.

Mr. Roper has taught elementary school for over 15 years. This 5th grade teacher has participated in the Kagan Academy, AVID for Elementary Schools, and the Promise Institute on Rational Numbers and Proportional Reasoning through the University of South Florida. Mr. Roper was also Hillsborough County, Florida’s PRISM award winner for outstanding mathematics teaching in 2012. He was awarded Teacher of the Year in 2013, while teaching at Bailey Elementary School in Florida, and in 2015 received the Ida S. Baker Memorial Award for diversity education at Cork Elementary. Mr. Roper has just moved to Fort Worth from Tampa, Florida with his wife, a 4th grade teacher at Diamond Hill, and 2 of their 3 children. He is very excited to be working with the many wonderful and talented staff members at Diamond Hill Elementary School this year, and cannot wait to meet all of his students and their families.
