I was born and raised right here in Fort Worth.  I graduated from Arlington Heights High School before attending the University of Texas in Austin.  I come from a family of teachers.  My mom and my sister are both teachers.  I have fpur children, two girls and twin boys.  My oldest daughter is a speech pathologist in FWISD and my second daughter teaches high school health and is the head girls soccer coach at Diamond Hill Jarvis.  My boys are freshman in college, one attends the University of Arkansas and the other is at TCC, then he's headed to TCU.
This is my 30th year in the classroom!! The first six years of my teaching career were spent teaching third and fifth grade at a small private school in Ft. Worth.  I came to M.L. Phillips in 1996 and I've been here ever since.  I've taught third, fourth, and some subjects in fifth.
I can't imagine being anything other than a teacher (well, except a private detective).  I love teaching kids.  There is nothing more rewarding than being a part of a child's emotional and academic development.  I strive to create an environment where they feel safe, secure and successful.
