I was born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas. I have been married for 13 years to my wonderful husband. I have one son who is 12 years old and in seventh grade and one dog named Dakota. Art has always been my passion and I love painting and drawing during my free time. I love traveling, hiking, and swimming. My other hobbies are reading, yoga, and enjoying time with my family.
I graduated from Brewer High School and obtained my Bachelors Degree in Art from the University of North Texas in 2001. I began teaching for Fort Worth ISD in 2001 as a first grade ESL teacher. In 2007, I began my career as an Art Teacher and have been at M.L. Phillips for eight years. In 2014, I went back to graduate school to obtain my Master's Degree in Art Therapy and graduated in 2017 with an MS in Mental Health Counseling with a specialization in Art Therapy. I also work as an Art Therapist at The Art Station, a non-profit mental health facility in Fort Worth Texas.
I love working with children and am very passionate about teaching. I strive to nurture the imagination and creativity in all children by providing a safe, supportive environment in which students can express themselves through art-making.
