Mr. Nathan Peña
Mr. Peña completed his Bachelors of Science from TCU and went on to complete his Masters of Education degree from DePaul University in Chicago. While in Chicago, Mr. Peña performed improv comedy at the famous IO Theatre. After moving back to Fort Worth, he went on to complete his student teaching in AP United States History and Pre-AP World Geography at Arlington Heights High School. During his time at AHHS, he worked very closely with the Fort Worth After School program to help as a tutor and develop several after school enrichment activities such as: Improv Club, Gamer Club, D&D Club, and Ping Pong Club.
As a teacher Mr. Peña strives to make history relatable, as students are given opportunities to create, perform, and express themselves through his assignments. His love of theatre and comedy are also quite apparent in his teaching style. He encourages his students to use critical thinking when evaluating the past as well as the present. Mr. Peña is someone who truly loves history and he is extremely excited to have the opportunity to ignite that same passion in the students at YWLA.
