Ivonne Jorgenson- 2 way Instruction(Spanish and English)
Hello, my name is Ivonne Jorgensen. I am teacher third grade dual language. I enjoy the part I play in my students lives. I take that role very seriously because I know it helps in the creation of good productive adults. Being a mother of four, I know the importance of creating safe, nurturing environment for all students. I believe that every child should be treated the way I expect my children to be treated. I love to travel!
Carolyn Blackwell- 3rd grade ESL(self contained)
I've been in FWISD since 2001 and this is my second year at Dezavala. I received my Bachelor's from UT Tyler and Masters from SFA. I love working with kids and at Dezavala.Fourth Grade
Nelson Favela-4th grade Dual language Literacy, Social Studies
Buenos dias! My name is Nelson Favela and this is my fifth year as an educator, all five at DeZavala! I was born and raised in Aurora, IL (Party on Garth!), a small suburb of Chicago. I moved to Texas in 2003 and attended UTA, where I majored in International Business and Spanish. Immediately after graduation, I decided teaching is where my passion truly lies and completed my alternative certification. I enjoy arts and crafts!

Hello, my name is Sarah West. This is my fourth year teaching at DeZavala Elementary. I was born in California but moved to Texas when I was two years old. The most important things in my life are my family, friends, and my students. My hobbies are reading, cooking, and eating! I love the Dallas Cowboys and the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Hello, my name is The’Resa Harris. I teach 4th grade math and science. I have been at DeZavala for six years. I graduated from UT Austin in 2006. My favorite color is purple! I will do my best to provide your child with the best education possible. I love to dance!

Hello, my name is Oscar Lopez. I am a native Texan and have lived in Dallas, Lancaster, Keene and Fort Worth throughout my life. I love sports, art, music, and food! I am excited to start my first 2nd year of teaching here at DeZavala. #smallschoolbigheart I work part-time at a dino-lab!
Brooke Darby-ELA
Hello, my name is Brooke Darby. I am excited to return for my third year at DeZavala. I have taught for five years. I studied at Texas Tech University. I am an avid reader and love to travel. My favorite part about teaching is building relationships with my students. I backpacked around the Philippines this summer!
Stacy Garner-5th grade dual language(self contained)
Hello, my name is Stacey Garner. I teach fifth grade dual language. I have been in education for 12 years. I studied at University of Texas in Arlington. I am married to my husband, Ricardo and he is from Chile. I have four year old twins- Adila and Emiliano. I taught Physical Education, second, third, fourth, and fifth grades. I love math and science! My favorite color is green and I am currently learning Spanish. My family immigrated from Germany in 1913 to Texas!
