Dr. David Trimble, Principal
My name is David Trimble and I am honored to be the principal at J.P. Elder. I am homegrown Fort Worth ISD from kindergarten through graduation from Paschal High School, and my entire career in education.
After graduating with my Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Texas at Arlington, I started my educational career as an English teacher and coach at O.D. Wyatt High School. I then became an assistant principal at William James Middle School before being named principal at Meadowbrook Middle School. During this time, I also went back to UTA and earned a Master’s of Education in Teaching.
I was then an administrator at Horizons Alternative Middle school and the International Newcomers Academy, before serving as an assistant principal at North Side High for the past seven years. I completed my Doctorate in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from UTA in 2014.
When not working, I enjoy spending time with my family. I have been married for 25 years and have two children. My wife is also in education and serves as the Executive Director of Communications for Red Oak Independent School District. My son is a junior at the University of Oklahoma, Boomer Sooner and my daughter is a freshman at Auburn University, War Eagle.
I am so excited to be in the community and I am looking forward to helping J.P. Elder become a model of what a great school can be.
