2022-2023 Swim Team

    The swimmers competed in the District swim meet last night and brought home the Boys District Championship!  All the swimmers swam events that helped win the trophy.  Swimmers last night were : Diego Flores-Martinez, Yhandeill Ortiz-Hernandez, Nils Marsk, Xavier Weitz, and Candace West.

    What a great night we had!  

     

    October 2022
    The swim team hosted the Halloween Sprint meet and walked away with the 3rd place trophy! Please congratulate Yhandeill Ortiz-Hernandez, Xavier Weitz, and Diego Flores-Martinez on their great swims!

    Nils and Yhandiell are headed to San Antonio for the 4A State swimming and Diving Championship Meet on February 9-10.

    Just before the ice shut down, WHHS swimmers competed in the Region 2 - 4A swim meet in Frisco, qualifying 2 swimmers to compete in the State Championship Meet this week, February 9-10 in San Antonio!

    Qualifying for the state meet are Nils Marsk-200 Freestyle,and Yhandeill Ortiz-Hernandez-500 Freestyle.

    WHHS swimmers competing in the Regional Meet were Candace West, Diego Flores-Martinez, Xavier Weitz, Nils Marsk, and Yhandeill Ortiz-Hernandez. 

    Regional finishes were
    Boys 200 Medley Relay-4th (D. Flores-Martinez, N. Marsk, X. Weitz, Y. Ortiz-Hernandez)
    Boys 200 Freestyle - 2nd Nils Marsk (state Qualifier)
    Girls 50 Free  - 10th Candace West  
    Boys 50 Free - 10th Xavier Weitz, 12th Y. Ortiz-Hernandez, 13th Diego Flores-Martinez
    Boys 100free - 9th Xavier Weitz
    Boys 500 Free- 2nd Yhandiell Ortiz-Hernandez(state qualifier)
    Boys 200 Free Relay- 5th(D. Flores-Martinez, N. Marsk, X. Weitz, Y. Ortiz-Hernandez)
    Girls 100 Backstroke - 5th Candace West
    Boys 100 Backstroke - 10th DiegoFlores-Martinez
