Academic All-State Honors 2023
Posted by Coach Clark on 5/15/2023Please congratulate Keyon Butler, Foy Ellis, RJ Moilan, and Logan Wagner for earning honors on the Boys Track Academic All-State Team. Each of these young men has maintained a grade point average of 92 or above throughout their high school career.

State Track Meet
Posted by Coach Clark on 5/15/2023Last Thursday, May 11th Aaron Martin competed in the 4A Boys 100-meter dash. He placed 6th in the race with a time of 10.69. He completed his high school track season as the District and Area Champion in the 100-meter dash. Aaron also is the school record holder in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.54.

Regional Track Results 2023
Posted by Coach Clark on 4/29/2023On Friday and Saturday, the boys and girls track team competed in the Region II 4A Track and Field Championships in Commerce, TX. In her first regional track meet, Abby Moilan placed 6th in the Shot Put. Also competing in his first regional track meet, Trishtan Willis placed 7th in the 110-meter hurdles, setting a personal record with a time of 15.59. Aaron Martin placed 3rd in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.73 earning a spot to compete in the State Track Meet on Thursday, May 11th. He had the fastest 3rd place time out of all 4 regions and qualified as the wildcard.

Posted by Coach Clark on 4/20/2023Yesterday, the boys and girls track team competed in the Area Track and Field Championships at Kennedale High School, setting 7 personal records.
The boys got things rolling with a 3rd place finish in the 4 x 100-meter relay and 1st place in the 100-meter dash with Aaron Martin.

District 9-4A Track & Field Championship Day 2
Posted by Coach Clark on 4/14/2023The varsity boys and girls track team completed day 2 of competition in the 9-4A District Track and Field Championships yesterday at Clark Stadium, setting eight personal records. The girls' team finished third in the team standings. The boys' team dominated the meet, scoring 216 points and bringing home the 9-4A District Championship.
The 4 x 100-meter relay team of Armani Perry-Brown, Aaron Martin, Kaream Williams, and Kemarrius Mayes got things started with a 1st place victory and setting a new school record with a time of 42.54. Aaron Martin set a new school record in the 100 meter dash with a time of 10.57, breaking the old school record he previously held of 10.82. The boys' team also got 1st place in the 4 x 200 meter and 4 x 400 meter relays.
I want to give a huge shout out to the track coaching staff of Coach Pritchett, Coach Maehs, Coach Foster, and Coach Sutton. Without them, none of the success the athletes are achieving would be possible.

District 9-4A Day 1 Results
Posted by Coach Clark on 4/11/2023Today the boys and girls varsity track team completed day one of the competition in the District 9-4A Track and Field Championships.
There were six personal records set today, starting with Foy Ellis getting 1st place in the High Jump, setting a personal record with a jump of 5'-10". He also got 2nd place in the Long Jump, setting a personal record with a jump of 19'-3.75".
K'heaven Johnson got 1st place in the Shot-Put, setting a personal record with a throw of 45' - 6". He also got 1st place in the Discus, setting a personal record with a throw of 116'- 6".
X'Zavion Young got 2nd place in the Shot-Put, setting a personal record with a throw of 38'-8.75".
Benjamin Prince got 2nd place in the 3200-meter run, setting a personal record with a time of 11:40.53.
The varsity boys team is currently in 2nd place in the team standings with 66 points.

Posted by Coach Clark on 4/7/2023On Thursday, the boys and girls junior varsity track team competed in the District 9-4A Track and Field Championships at Clark Stadium. Both teams did an awesome job of representing Western Hills HS with nine personal records set. The junior varsity girls team finished 3rd in the team standings, scoring 50 points, and the junior varsity boys finished as runner-ups in the team standings, scoring 135 points.

Two school records were broken along with nine personal records set. Keyon Butler took 1st place in the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 15.69, breaking the old school record of 15.81. Aaron Martin took 1st place in the 100 meter dash with a time of 10.82, breaking his own record of 10.89.

Little Elm Lobo Track Meet
Posted by Coach Clark on 3/27/2023This past Saturday, the boys and girls track team competed in the Little Elm Lobo track meet. Both boys' and girls' teams are improving at each meet, and set 12 personal records this past weekend.
The varsity boys 4 x 100m relay team (Keyon Butler, Aaron Martin, Kaream Williams, and Kemarrius Mayes) ran their fastest time of the year at 42.91 and got 3rd place.
