Victoria Bergman

Mrs. Bergman is beginning her 5th year as a Burton Hill Buffalo, her eleventh year in total teaching with FWISD. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Education from Tarleton State University. As the 5th grade Math & Science teacher, Mrs. Bergman's favorite part of teaching is finding something special for the student that inspires them to learn more. Mrs. Bergman loves all things living and works in the Education Department at the Fort Worth Zoo. Mrs. Bergman's husband is an Engineer at Lockheed. Her oldest daughter is working towards her residency in Orthotics/Prosthetics while her high-schooler splits attention between engineering, computer science, and art. When Mrs. Bergman isn't at school or the Zoo, she is most likely found playing with the family pets (2 cats and 95 lb dog) or crafting.

Luz Jimenez

Mrs. Jimenez is very excited to be the Dual Language teacher for 5th Grade. She has been an educator for 30 plus years . She has taught Elementary and High School in different places: Bogota (Colombia)-her home country-, Atlanta, Pittsburgh, and Fort Worth. This is her ninth year at Burton Hill. She earned her Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Texas A&M (Go Aggies!)
Mrs. Jimenez and Mario, her husband, have two children Santiago(29), and Gaby (16), a grandson, Romeo (8), and the sweetest mini-schnauzer, Logan(4). She likes reading, traveling, and dancing.

Amanda Matyastik

Ms. Matyastik is beginning her second year at Burton Hill Elementary School. She is a graduate of Baylor University with a BS in Education. As a Reading and Writing teacher, she loves to get students to feel inspired and hopes to have each child fall in love with reading. Reading is the building block to everything, so Ms. Matyastik emphasizes reading strategies to build students’ reading comprehension. Ms. Matyastik has always had a love for teaching children and has worked every day to be the best teacher she can be. When Ms. Matyastik is not teaching, she is probably at home playing with her dog Lola or spending time with her family.
