Mr. Jefferson has been a Professional School Counselor for many years and has also served as a University Instructor.  His philosophy of education is that every child given the opportunity, resources, and the proper encouragement can learn to the fullest of his/her potential. ”  Because he is a child advocate, he believes children and youth are the future.  As Professional School Counselor, his role is to be an advocate for students and make school a safe, positive place to learn.  A favorite quote by an unknown author and motivator for Mr. Jefferson is, “When you help a child today, you write the history for tomorrow.” Mr. Jefferson enjoys walking and spending time with his family.

Mr. Omorogbe has been teaching at Polytechnic High School since 2003. He understands the multifaceted potential of children and believes in their ability to suceed.  He pledges to continue to develop and help students achieve their academic and post high school goals.  Mr. Omorogbe's ultimate goal is that every Poly student will graduate from high school, be globally competitive for post-secondary education and/or work, and be prepared for life in the twenty-first century.  

Mr. Omorogbe is married with one child.  He is also the head girls soccer coach for Poly.

10th Grade Counselor
 
Mr. Duarte is the 10th grade counselor at Polytechnic High-school. Prior to coming to Poly High-school he served as a middle school counselor and an elementary teacher. Mr. Duarte has a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Southwestern Adventist University and a Master's of education in School Counseling from Andrews University. Mr. Duarte lives in Crowley with his wife Ana-Carla and his two kids Ruben, IV and Gigi. In his free time, he enjoys hanging out with his family, running, and keeping up with all the DFW sports teams.

As a counselor at Polytechnic High School, Jessica Taylor's goal is to promote and enhance students' learning by developing their academic, career, and personal/social aspirations through a comprehensive school guidance program. She sees and understands the multifaceted potential of children and believes in their ability to succeed. Therefore, it is her ambition to be a positive role model for students as she accompanies them on their journey through life making positive choices, advocating for them, and believing that they have something uniquely special to contribute to society.

Shirley Jakson

Special Education Counselor 

Ms. Jackson is a native of Fort Worth and is an alumnus of Trimble Tech High School.  She obtained her bachelor’s degree from East Texas State University, Commerce and received her Master of Counseling from University of North Texas, Denton. 

Ms. Jackson has been at Polytechnic since 2002 as a teacher and as her current position as counselor.  She sees herself as a resource for helping students to achieve their academic and post high school goals.  Ms. Jackson enjoys spending time with her wonderful children Bridget, Donovan, and other family members.  She also enjoys spending time in worship and fellowship with her extended family at Cornerstone Baptist Church, Arlington.

Lucretia Reed

Accelerated Counselor

This is Ms. Reed's third year at Poly High School and her 11th year as a counselor.   She loves education and believes that it is the key to opening a multitude of doors!  Ms. Reed graduated from Stephen F. Austin with two Bachelors, one in Rehabilitation and the other in Psychology. She then earned two Masters at Prairie View A&M University in the areas of Counseling and Educational Administration. She recently attended Capella University to work toward her Ph.D., completed all but her dissertation.   Originally from the Oak Cliff neiborhood of Dallas, she has one sister, a brother-in-law and two adorable nieces that keep her busy.  Ms. Reed's parents still live in Dallas and have been married for 40 plus years.  Her family members are my biggest cheerleaders.

Ms. Reed looks forward to working at Poly this year.  Helping students achieve their goals is important to her.  Ms. Reed feels education is important and although life happens, you must continue to persevere while keeping your eyes on the prize.
