The curriculum offered at Southwest High School is extensive and covers a wide range of subjects. It caters to both students who plan on pursuing higher education and those who are considering community colleges, military service, or employment. In order to accommodate the diverse needs of the student body, the curriculum includes advanced placement, honors, and regular courses. Students have the option to follow either the Recommended High School Program or the Distinguished Achievement Program.

The SHS Post Secondary Website maintained by our specialist is currently being updated. At this time, please reference the district Academics page for updates on when the GSPOC application process will begin. Traditionally it opens in November. Thank you for your patience.
Use this link to explore the Gold Seal Programs throughout the district. It also has a timeline and explains the process for applying for those programs once the window has been opened by Academics Downtown.
This link includes PDF versions of Student Handbooks, MS/HS Course Catalogs, ES/MS/HS Guide to Grade Reporting, and Bulletin 100. These resources cover more than one year.
