The 2020-2021 school year begins my 8th year as the principal at George C. Clarke Elementary. I am thrilled to spend my days working and learning with the best students, teachers, and families in our beautiful city.

I have served the children of FWISD for my entire career in education (19 years and still loving every moment) first as a teacher (Sagamore Hill), district math specialist, then school administrator (T.A. Sims, A.M. Pate, George C. Clarke). I earned my B.S. in Elementary Education from Texas Tech University and my M.Ed. in Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Texas at Arlington.

When I have free time, I spend it with my husband, David, our four wonderful children, Jordan (22), Hayden (16), Putter (12), and Logan (10), and our spoiled dog, Coco.

I believe it is important to try your best, be kind, and choose to be EXTRAordinary!

This is my third year as Assistant Principal at George C Clarke, and I am so happy to have joined a campus where I am surrounded by the sweetest students, an extremely talented group of educators, and such supportive parents and community members.

Before joining GCC, I was a teacher for seven years where I taught grades 2nd-5th. I received my Bachelor’s Degree at UT Arlington and my Master’s Degree at Stephen F. Austin. My philosophy as an educator is that to truly impact a child’s life you must work to build relationships and nurture those relationship on day to day basis. Student learning comes naturally after that.

During my free time I like to spend time with my husband, son, and two daughters. I also love to read. My favorite series include Harry Potter and Percy Jackson. 😊

Mis series favoritas incluyen Harry Potter y Percy Jackson. 😊
