The leaves have fallen, the air's turned cool and crisp and soccer season has finally arrived! Headers, corner kicks, diving defenses and thrilling goals propel the game of soccer to be the world's most beloved sport. Pele, Messi, Beckham and Ronaldo are household names around the world. Who will be the next shining stars on the soccer pitch? Time will tell, and now it's time for practice!
Practice begins bright and early Monday, December 3rd, 2018. Athletes are expected to meet in the fieldhouse NO LATER THAN 6:15 AM. It is the expectation that athletes be out on the field, ready to warm up, at 6:30 AM, Monday through Friday. The weather is forecast to be in the mid 40's, so dress in warm athletic gear. Bring your cleats along with your athletic shoes. We will be doing sports specific conditioning, so be sure to hydrate today and eat a healthy breakfast at least an hour and a half before practice. If you have not already done so, please bring your physical. Soccer managers are expected to report in at 6:15, as well.
I am excited to begin this journey with you. Our numbers have certainly increased from previous years, and our talent level has increased along with that growth. Hard work will determine the rest. I look forward to seeing you all grow as scholar-athletes, as we make the push to become a dominant player in our new 6-4A district. Our goal is to win district, but my biggest wish is to see positive athletic growth in your sport as well as in your academic, social and community lives.
