I feel truly blessed to be serving as the new principal of South Hills Elementary! The students, teachers and community have become very near and dear to my heart over the past four years and it is a great privilege to continue building relationships and working with such wonderful people! I became an educator for one primary reason – to make a difference in the lives of children. I believe that truly educating a child means going far beyond testing and the standard curriculum. I feel that it is important for us as educators to teach children how to be good human beings who make meaningful contributions to society and become lifelong thinkers and learners.

I received my Bachelors of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from Abilene Christian University in 2000, and began my educational career in Fort Worth ISD at Sam Rosen Elementary, where I taught for three years. I then moved to Washington Heights Elementary, where I taught for two years and served as a Literacy Coach for six years. During this time, I received my Masters in Educational Administration from Lamar University. I then spent one year as a Campus Testing Coordinator/Data Analyst at Oaklawn Elementary before being hired as an Assistant Principal at South Hills Elementary in 2013.

I have an amazing husband and three precious children who are my pride and joy. In my free time I enjoy spending time with family and friends, reading, cooking and traveling.

South Hills Elementary is one of the largest elementary schools in the district, but it definitely has a family feel. The students are excited to learn and they work very hard. Our teachers go above and beyond to give our students the very best education, and the parents support the school as well as learning at home. Our instructional support team has a wealth of knowledge and supports our students and teachers both in and out of the classroom. We have a phenomenal PTA and fantastic school adopters that do so much for our students and teachers. I strongly believe that South Hills Elementary is the BEST elementary and I am so excited to see what the future holds! Please feel free to contact me at any time!

I was born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas and am honored to be serving the students, teachers and community of South Hills Elementary School. I am a proud product of Fort Worth ISD; I love this city and am excited about being a part of this wonderful community! I’m a proud graduate of The University of Texas at Austin where I obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Education. In May I graduated from Texas Christian University with a Masters in Educational Leadership. As a first generation college graduate, I feel it is my responsibility to inspire and empower the students of our community to be college bound. I am committed to building lasting relationships with peers, teachers, students, and community members in order to achieve growth and success for all. I am an advocate for equity and equality in providing the highest quality education to all children. I aspire to support South Hills ES in accomplishing our mission and goals this coming year. I currently live in Benbrook with my husband, Daniel and our dog, Tiara. I enjoy going to baseball games, reading, and spending time with my sisters. My door is always open and I am looking forward to a phenomenal 2017-2018 school year.
