Mr. Abram Carpenter, counselor

Hello all, my name is Abram Carpenter and I am proud to be an ALA tiger.  My career in education began immediately after graduating HS in 1999 as a student teacher in band at Forest Oak middle school and continued as a TAAS & AVID tutor, teacher (i.e., math, science, PE and social studies) and coach.  I chose to pursue counseling because I wanted an opportunity to make a difference in students’ lives on an individual basis, rather than in a whole group setting in the classroom.  After spending one year as a school counselor, I decided to pursue a LPC (Licensed Professional Counseling) license, so that I can better understand the root causes of issues within students that struggle.  As I better understand my role as a counselor, I plan to improve my craft each year in an effort to empower any student before their problems are beyond hope.  As I serve my students and staff, I also have the privilege of raising three wonderful kids alongside my beautiful wife.  Thank you and God Bless!
