Steers Boys Basketball Season 2020

  • 1/28/20:  The North Side boys basketball team defeated Carter Riverside last night in exciting fashion 68-63. The Steers were led by the blazing  Jessie Benavides' 8 -3 pointers for 25 points. Also in double figures was Esli Davila, who was literally unstoppable, 15 points, Jesus Nevarez' 10 points and Tim Holland's 10 points and 12 assists and zero turnovers! The night was capped off by Victor Martinez' brilliant Dirk Nowitski step back fade away which brought the house down! 

    Congratulations North Side basketball. Next game is Friday against the top ranked OD Wyatt Chapparels at Billingsley field house.


    A Great Big THANK YOU to the Varsity Choir for an outstanding rendition of the Star Spangled Banner before the basketball game last night! Truly awesome!!
    Also to the beautiful Sterling Spurs for their halftime dance routine and support through out the game!!
  • 1/22/2020: The North Side boys basketball team lost a heartbreaker last night to South Hills in overtime 68-65. The very improved young Steers had a galiant team effort led by Johnny Perez 16 points, Esli Davila 15 points and Jesus Nevarez 15 points, also Tim Holland had 7 points and 11 rebounds and Disan Valles 7 points and 8 rebounds.
    The Steers will be back in action Friday against Arlington Heights.

  • The North Side Freshman boys basketball team won their 2nd game in a row defeating Venus last night 38-19. The Steers were led by Eddie Garcia's 23 points.
    The JV boys  won their 3rd game last night defeating Venus 45-18. They were led by Adriel Gutierrez's 12 points, Diyar Vlyer's 9 points and Martin Gurrero's 8 points.
    The Varsity also pulled out a victory against the Venus Bulldogs 63-38. The Steers were led by Jesus Nevarez's 23 points, Johnny Perez's 20 points , Disan Valles' 11 points and Tim Hollands 12 rebounds and 6 assists.
  • Your North Side Boys Basketball team won their first round game at the Lake Worth Invitational . The Steers beat Mineral Wells 47-44.  Jesus Benavides led the team with 16 points followed by Esli Davila's 13 points and Disan Valles' 10 points. Johnny Perez and Tim Holland also contributed outstanding defense and over all play for the victory. The Steers play Bridgeport tonight at 6:00 for the second round game.
