• I am honored to continue serving the Luella Merrett community as principal.  Over the past six years as the Assistant Principal at Luella Merrett, I have had the opportunity to learn what a special and unique school Luella Merrett is.  We have such wonderful students, supportive families, and a very talented staff.  The oppportunity to lead this school is very exciting and I am looking forward to a great year.
For those of you who may not know me, I grew up in California.  For as long as I can remember, I wanted to be a teacher.  I come from a family of educators and am passionate about helping all children experience success in school.  I attended San Diego State University where I studied social science for single subject teaching.  After completing my bachelor’s degree, I completed SDSU’s teacher credential program and began my teaching career at the Jueveinle Court and Community Schools in San Diego.  In 2008, I was recruited from sunny San Diego as part of a turnaround team at South Hills High School in FWISD.  During my career in FWISD I have served as a Teacher, Student Leadership Director, Girl’s Soccer Coach, Assistant Principal at Eastern Hills High School, Assistant Principal and Principal at Luella Merrett.
Through my various experiences, I have had the opportunity to learn a lot.  I am passionate about education and believe that ALL students can learn.  I believe that education provides endless opportunities for students.  I know that students thrive in creative environments where they are encouraged to think, problem solve and be active learners.  I believe that education truly is a team effort and I am committed to partnering with you to ensure that Luella Merrett is a place where every student is successful.  Please know that my door is always open and I welcome you feedback and am here for anything you may need.  I know Luella Merrett is a GREAT school and I am looking forward to continuing to serve as principal.
