Mr. Duvaughn Flagler

My name is Vaughn Flagler and I am excited to be the new principal here at S.S. Dillow Elementary.  It is an honor to be a part of the S.S. Dillow Elementary and Fort Worth ISD family.  I look forward to meeting you and working alongside you this upcoming school year.

I would like to tell you a little about myself.  I am from Atlanta, Georgia but was born in Virginia Beach, Virginia.  I graduated with my Bachelor’s Degree from Gardner-Webb University in North Carolina.  I later obtained my Master’s Degree in Education Leadership from West Texas A&M.

When I am not at school, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, working out, watching and playing sports and traveling.  I also enjoy practicing and learning about the Spanish language.

I have worked my way up in the field of education starting as a substitute teacher.  I later became an ISS instructor, a 5th grade teacher teaching various subjects, an admin intern, an assistant principal and now a principal.  My experience has taught me that it takes a strong team to run a successful school.  I have also learned that every staff member plays an important role in the success of a school no matter their position.

I believe that education is the key to success and that all students should have the necessary tools to be successful.  I am excited to continue building on all the great things that are already in place, learning together, growing together and most importantly growing our students.  Lastly, I look forward to celebrating all of our successes and having a great 2019-2020 school year.

Mrs. Lilly Belew

Hi my name is Mrs. Lilly Belew. I was born in California and I am the seventh child of immigrant parents from Mexico. I graduated from a Seventh-Day-Adventist boarding high school in South Texas (I was tired of moving schools twice a year. We were migrant kids.) After high school, I followed my brother, Tony, who is two years older than me, up to north Texas and attended Southwestern Adventist College (University now) in Keene, Texas.

I also attended Texas Women’s University to earn my teacher’s certification and later earned my teachers certificate from TCU. Recently, I attended the University of North Texas where I received my Masters in Educational Leadership.

It’s hard to believe that I am starting my 30th year in education. Twenty-eight of those years have been with FWISD in different leadership roles. I am fortunate that 23 of those years have been alongside my awesome husband, Scott. We have one daughter, Jackie, and three fur babies, Rufus, Bella and Sadie Presley.

I am excited to be joining the S. S. Dillow family and getting to know each and everyone of you!
