Hello! My name is Ann Lupold. I am so fortunate to be your school counselor. It is my privilege to serve the students of Cesar Chavez! I believe in that our students should be supported socially and, emotionally while encouraging their academic growth.
Professionally, my goal is to help students with growth mindset, social skills, and healthy interpersonal relationships while presenting them with career and college goals. I am very excited to witness our students blossom into citizens of their community.

Boys Town Skills
At Cesar Chavez, we study a social skill of the week. Monthly, I visit each classroom to teach a certain social skill to the class. I use the Boy's Town curriculum to help them practice the social skills taught each week. Here is a link for parents to find out more about Boy's Town. Parent's Guide to Boy's Town
Trust-Based Relational Intervention
In addition to our social skills, I teach about self regulation. These techniques help a child understand their bodies when reacting to certain feelings. Knowing these techniques can empower the student to understand their feelings and control themselves better in the classroom. If you would like to know more about TBRI, please watch the video below. TBRI video for Parents
College and Career Readiness
Throughout the year, I prepare our students to begin to think about their futures. We have College Go Get It Week, College Night and Career Day. As well as helping 5th graders begin to think about the transition to middle school though our Programs of Choice. If you are interested; here is a link to connect to our Gold Seal Programs and Schools of Choice. Gold Seal Programs and School of Choice
For my counseling program, I use many resources to meet the social and emotional needs of our students. This page will explain the resources I use to assist our students. Please call or email me if you would be interested in having your child participate in a small counseling group.
This is a small group for 3rd through 5th graders by giving them TBRI techniques which can help them cope with certain emotions such as fear and anger.
Lunch Bunch is a time when I meet with certain students to discuss social skills such as New Students, Friendship Clubs, and Grief Groups
Kids Hope Mentoring Program
At Cesar Chavez, we are fortunate to have Getsmani Baptist Church sponsor this wonderful mentoring program which matches mentors with our students. If you would like to learn more about this program please click on the link below or please contact me. Kid's Hope
Visiting with the Counselor
Each student has a chance to come and see me to talk about worries, conflicts, and emotions. I am here to help. Parents can come to visit with me to come and talk about their students. I am here for you and your child.
Thinking about our student's future!
A counselor needs to think about our student's future and the importance education will be in their lives. Individual planning means to help a student evaluate their own interests, abilities and skills. I try to help students develop their own personal goals while helping create their plans for the future.
On this page, I will have resources for parents to help them deal with their child about the transitions for school, and ideas for their child's future.
