Sandra Haro teaches English Language Arts classes. This is Haro’s sixth year at Mclean Sixth Grade. Her favorite part about teaching is interacting and building relationships with various kids and families. Haro was inspired to become a teacher because she thought it would be cool to talk to students and work with them.
"I became a teacher to influence children to make a difference in their lives and the lives of those around them," Haro said.
Haro attended Texas A&M University in College Station and earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and a minor in Reading. Haro also earned a master's degree in education administration from Tarleton State University. Haro’s certifications include: English as a Second Language 1-8, Generalist 1-8, Principal EC-12.
Haro believes education is important, and her favorite quote is: "Education is the most powerful weapon that you can use to change the world." ---Nelson Mandela.
In her spare time, Haro loves to read and enjoys spending time with her family and dogs. Haro enjoys eating steak and drinking Dr. Pepper. Her favorite fast food places are Sonic, Chick-fil-A, and Starbucks.
