• Atwood McDonald Elementary School was established in 1967. It is named for Judge Atwood McDonald, a long-time Fort Worth resident who had a successful legal career. Judge McDonald served many years on the Fort Worth ISD School Board and was President of the Board for part of his tenure.

The school serves the surrounding neighborhood kids from Pre-K through 5th grade. Our campus is home to Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) and Reaching Independence through Structured Education (RISE) classrooms that provide services for students with developmental disabilities.

Atwood has a growing number of after-school clubs to help our students achieve and learn in multiple areas!

Because of our dedicated faculty and wonderful students, our campus earned an A rating by TEA in 2022!!!
