Ms. Melissa Torres
Melissa Torres teaches Social Studies and Spanish Language Enrichment. This is Torres’ fourth year teaching at McLean Sixth Grade. Her favorite part of teaching are the students because she enjoys seeing seeing the light bulb "go off" whenever they finally understand something.
"I enjoy teaching students about all the different cultures around the world," Torres said.
Torres attended Texas Wesleyan University and earned a Bachelor of Science. She holds certifications in: middle school grades (4-8) social studies/geography and reading.
Torres was inspired to become a teacher when she taught catechism at her local church. She enjoyed working with kids and seeing them learn new things.
In her free time, she likes to spend time with friends, family, and running. Her favorite colors are black and pink. Her favorite foods are Pozole and Pho. She enjoys dining at Pho 95. Her favorite book is "Wonder."
