I have been working in education for 10 years. I have a bachelors of Arts in Radio, TV and Film from the the University of North of Texas and a Masters of Education in Leadership and policy studies from the University of Texas at Arlington. 

I served in the Navy for four years in San Diego, California.

I was born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas. After attending the University of Texas in Austin (Go Horns!), I lived and worked in Alaska and South Korea as a curriculum director. 

This year I will be celebrating my twelfth year at NHM and love teaching literature, writing and history. I believe in the power of a rigorous, integrated curriculum that asks students to invest in critical thinking and applicable, real-world skills. I can't wait to be back in the classroom!  

When not in the classroom or nestled between the pages of a new read, I enjoy spending time with my five favorite adventurers, Ben (7), Elizabeth (5), Samantha (3), George and Burford (14-month-old twins). You can find us working in the garden, combing the trails or lost in feats of art or engineering with their (math-brained!) father. 

I can't wait to get the year started and look forward to a fantastic year of literary adventures, creative authorship and historical exploration in Room 7!
