A little bit about myself. This is my 30th year in education! Ouch, can I really be that old? - And, all of them have been in FWISD. I moved to Fort Worth after graduating from Salisbury State University, in Maryland. I have been here ever since. I grew up in south Florida and lived there my whole life prior to moving across the country for college. I am an only child, and when my parents retired they moved to Fort Worth too. So Fort Worth is definitely my home. I attended TCU earning a masters degree, and then eventually a doctorate degree from Tarleton State University.
I knew from a young age that I wanted to be a teacher, and I can’t imagine doing anything else. I have been the principal at McLean 6th grade for the past 8 years. What a gift to lead and serve in a community where I live and have sent my own children to school. McLean 6th is a true diamond.
In my personal life, I have been happily married to my husband Aaron for 21 years. We have three children. Our oldest, Hunter, is 26 and is learning to be adultish, he works in the medical equipment sales industry and stays very busy. Our daughter Lauren is a freshman at OU, and our youngest daughter Zoe is a junior at Paschal High School. Our children are our whole heart! If you stand next to me for more than a few min., it is likely I will be talking about one of them. All three of our kids went to school in the Paschal pyramid and we love supporting our Paschal Panthers. In my spare time, I love walking my dog, listening to books and eating Mexican food. We spend a lot of time in a gym watching volleyball as our daughter Zoe, plays for a Paschal and a traveling club team.
