Fort Worth ISD Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA)
-
Fort Worth ISD is excited to offer our teachers a realistic pathway to earning substantially more money for their great work. It’s the Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA), passed by the Texas Legislature as part of House Bill 3. The approval process for a district's TIA plan is rigorous and involves many stakeholders.
FWISD is part of the Cohort D timeline. The FWISD TIA will be implemented in yearly phases. Additional teaching assignments will be added annually. The TIA is designed to help FWISD and other school systems in Texas recruit, retain and reward highly effective teachers.
Teachers will have the opportunity to be awarded on one of three levels: Recognized, Exemplary, and Master. Depending on the designation earned, teachers can increase their yearly compensation from $3,000 to $32,000.
Update since this video was released: Based on feedback from the survey and teacher focus groups, we made K-8 Math & Reading teachers eligible in Year 1. Additionally, based on teacher feedback, we have decided to only use the T-TESS Observation and Student Growth measures in Year 1.
