Battle of the Books!
Posted by Lee Sexton on 11/17/2019Fort Worth ISD Battle of the Books is a reading incentive program for students in 3rd thru 12th grades. Sam Rosen Elementary competes with teams from 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades. Our kids begin work on the competition early in the year by reading, discussing, and testing each other’s knowledge on the year’s Battle selections. Each spring the Battle of the Books, an event similar to a quiz show, takes place at TCU.
More than 400 students from approximately 30 Fort Worth ISD schools competed in the 2018 Battle of the Books on May 23 at the TCU Brown-Lupton University Union. The District partners with Texas Christian University each year to host this fun and fast-paced literacy competition.

Ms. Hernandez's Arts and Crafts Club
Posted by Lee Sexton on 11/17/2019ARTS and CRAFTS
We do anything crafty and related to art. We do some simple projects and some more complex ones. Some we finish the same day and others can take up to weeks to complete. We mix up different types of art/crafts for students to learn from while keeping it fun!
These are the arts/crafts we have done so far:
*Tissue paper flowers
*Origami of an eagle
*Paper mache Alebrijes
*3D winter cardinals on a branch (chalk, cotton balls, and construction paper)
