Degrees and Certifications:
Principal, Myrna Blanchard
My name is Myrna Blanchard, and I have the distinct honor of serving as the principal at North Hi Mount Elementary! This school year marks my eighteenth year in education serving in both public and private schools in DFW as a teacher, assistant principal, central office administrator, and university instructor.
It is no secret that we are a school whose students and staff are committed to learning like a champion every day by exhibiting our three NHM goals:
1) Integrity, being the best-behaved students in the state of Texas at school, at home, and in the community; 2) Respect, treating others with respect; and 3) Hard Work, working hard and getting better at learning every day.
The partnerships that have been cultivated between NHM, its families, community partners, and surrounding area have been invaluable to the growth and excellence that it has experienced. As such, NHM has become a premier school of choice for families. We are excited to welcome you, and we extend a hand and ask that you join us as we strive to learn like champions each and every day!
In the spirit of our theme this year “One Tribe” we are implementing a house system. This is a teaming/family concept that will build relationships with students and staff on campus. All students and staff will be placed into one of our “houses.” The houses are Integridad, Alaka’I, Esaba, and Ausduar.
The house system will allow us to incorporate many culture and climate building activities on campus. Some of these include classes partnering to mentor younger students, house celebrations and pep rallies, fun competitions to earn house points, and many other activities.
During the first week, your child will find out which house he or she will be in. Your child will be given a necklace that corresponds to their house color. They are as follows:
RED: INTEGRIDAD PURPLE: ALAKA’I BLACK: ESABA GREEN: AUSDAUR
We want all EAGER EAGLES to feel included and engaged while at North Hi Mount and know this will be an excellent way to build friendships and school pride. This will be their house for all of their time at NHM.
Feel free to contact your child’s teacher if you have questions. We are so excited about this fun, new way to bring our staff and students together. Please remember that our doors are always open, and we look forward to working alongside you in continuing to offer the best educational opportunity for all of our students.
Myrna Blanchard, Ph.D.

Dear NHM Families,
I am excited to announce that I will be joining the NHM family as your new assistant principal! I feel truly honored to be part of a school that has a long history of excellence in Fort Worth ISD.
I am a product of FWISD, graduating from Southwest High School and when I was called to teach, I came back home. I received my bachelor’s degree from Dallas Baptist University and my master’s degree from the University of North Texas. This year will mark my thirteenth year with the district and my first year in campus leadership.
I am eager and excited to begin this journey with all of you. My goal is to continue the great work NHM is doing in providing a rigorous and relevant education in a positive and nurturing environment.
