My name is Mandi Murphy, and I am excited to join you for the 2021-2022 school year  as the principal.I've been an educator for 20 years. I graduated from TWU with a degree in Exercise Physiology, from Lamar University with a Master's in Educational Leadership and will graduate in May from Dallas Baptist University with a Doctorate in Educational leadership and Curriculum & Instruction. I have served as a principal for 13 years in FWISD and Argyle ISD at  the elementary and middle school levels. I taught ELA, Science, Special Education,  and coached many sports and UIL events. Working with educators, parents, and  community members to provide the absolute best education and supportive  environment for all students is my passion.

I truly believe we are building life-long learners WITH you. Life is not easy and growing academically and emotionally should be tough at times. As our children struggle so do we; however, building resilience and tenacity relies on the ability to respond to difficulty. We are all in this together. Excellence in effort, thoughtfulness, and positivity breeds the most beautiful successes. I believe in NHM children and their families. I am thankful to be here with you.

It is my pleasure to serve you as Assistant Principal this year!  This is my fifteenth year in education.  Prior to becoming an administrator, I taught for ten years in FWISD.  In addition, I was an instructional specialist and data analyst in the district.  Even with these amazing experiences, I will always be a teacher at heart.

My decision to become an administrator came from a strong desire to improve student learning, support teachers, and make a positive impact on an entire school community.  My educational background includes a Bachelor of Business Administration from Texas A&M University, a Master’s in Educational Leadership and Master’s in Business Administration from Dallas Baptist University.

I am blessed to be the mother of one son.  In my spare time, I enjoy traveling, sewing, and spending time with family and friends.  It is my privilege to help lead North Hi Mount Elementary and the many talented teachers and students here! My goal is to continue to provide a supportive climate and culture at North Hi Mount that is conducive to teaching and learning.  By doing so, each individual student and teacher can experience growth to their highest potential. I look forward to an amazing year!

After teaching for 21 years in both Austin and Fort Worth, I am thrilled to begin my counseling career at North Hi Mount this year! I am a proud graduate of the University of Texas in Austin where I majored in English and Elementary Education. I received my graduate degree in counseling from Amberton University.

My philosophy of school counseling includes building positive relationships with students from all of backgrounds, advocating for students' success both academically and socially, and collaborating with parents, teachers, and administrators. My goal is to empower students to achieve their highest potential.

In my spare time, I enjoy walking with friends, and hiking with my family. I have two grown children, two spoiled dogs, and one supportive husband.
