Texas Education Code Section 38 requires school districts to provide guidance and prevention education in elementary and secondary schools on various topics. Texas Senate Bill 9 requires public schools in Texas to educate students on violence and child abuse, including trafficking. This preventive education empowers children to recognize abusive relationships and to seek help when they need it.
These lessons are implemented through 30-45 minute classroom presentations by Student Support Services professional personnel.
