Our Schools

Fort Worth ISD is aware of social media posts circulating threats against various campuses. Safety is our top priority, and we take these claims very seriously.

While districts across the state are experiencing similar posts, FWISD continues to work closely with local law enforcement to investigate each threat.

Although no claims have been deemed credible, we ask our community to remain vigilant. If you come across any threatening posts, please report them to your campus immediately so that an investigation can begin, and appropriate safety measures can be taken

Parents

We understand your heightened concerns and your desire to ensure your child's safety. Please be assured that Fort Worth ISD takes these threats and the safety of our students very seriously.

If you come across any concerning posts, please contact your child’s principal right away. Once informed, the principal will initiate the investigation process with the district and local law enforcement.

Thank you for partnering with Fort Worth ISD to help maintain a safe learning environment for all students

Students

If you see any threatening posts or behavior online, let a teacher, counselor, or your principal know right away.

Remember, social media threats are taken very seriously and can have serious consequences. If you are found responsible for a threatening post, you could face legal charges, be transferred to the district’s detention center, or even be banned from your campus.

There are severe legal and school consequences for this kind of behavior. Stay safe online and report any threatening posts immediately.

Consequences

Depending on the severity of the claim/post, consequences for making threats online can escalate.

Making threats online can lead to criminal charges, which will lead to the district reassigning the student to the district’s detention center or Metro campus.

A campus can also request that a student not return to the school dependent upon the circumstances.
