Fort Worth ISD significantly increased in TEA Accountability Distinctions across the district. In total, the district received 122 distinctions for the 2024-25 school year compared to 99 in the 2023-24 school year.

Thanks to the district’s focused efforts on literacy, the largest increase in distinctions for campuses was the Reading/ELA distinction. A total of 21 campuses earned this distinction, elementary campuses earned the most with 15 distinctions.

“I am proud of the teachers of Fort Worth ISD for their commitment to student achievement that directly led to these gains,” Superintendent Dr. Karen Molinar said. “Moving forward, we will continue to focus our efforts on literacy and math to further advance student success.”

The district increased campuses earning distinctions in almost every distinction category. Below is a breakdown of distinctions TEA granted Fort Worth ISD. 

Reading/ELA: 21 total

  • 5 High Schools
  • 15 Elementary Schools
  • 1 6th Grade Campus 

Mathematics: 19 total

  • 8 High Schools
  • 11 Elementary Schools

Science: 17 total

  • 8 High Schools
  • 9 Elementary Schools

Social studies: 10 total

  • 9 High Schools
  • 1 Middle School

Top 25% academic growth: 23 total

  • 2 High Schools
  • 21 Elementary Schools

Postsecondary readiness: 22

  • 7 High Schools
  • 1 6th Grade Campus 
  • 14 Elementary Schools

Top 25% closing the gaps: 15 total

  • 3 High Schools
  • 12 Elementary Schools

Fort Worth ISD Choices campuses continue to help drive student success, I.M. Terrell Academy for Visual and Performing Arts earned the most distinctions, with seven. Congratulations to these students, teachers, staff, and families! 

Both Oakhurst Elementary and World Languages Institute had a major jump in distinctions. Oakhurst Elementary increased from zero distinctions to five and WLI from one to six.
