HDR Foundation Funds All Kids Bike Program to Empower Kindergarten Students at Charles E. Nash Elementary School

This marks the second school in Fort Worth ISD to have the All Kids Bike Program

NOVEMBER 7, FORT WORTH, TX  — The HDR Foundation, in partnership with All Kids Bike, is pleased to announce the expansion of the All Kids Bike Learn-to-Ride Kindergarten PE Program to Charles E. Nash Elementary School. This initiative, made possible by a generous donation from the HDR Foundation, seeks to impart the joy of bike riding and promote essential life skills among young learners.

In a demonstration of commitment to education, healthy communities, and environmental stewardship, the Foundation has contributed $324,000 to All Kids Bike for the 2024-25 school year. This substantial donation will support 37 schools across the United States, specifically in areas where HDR employees live and work. The cumulative support from the HDR Foundation to All Kids Bike now exceeds $800,000 over the past three school years.

The comprehensive program includes teacher training and certification, a complete curriculum with lesson plans, games, and activities, a fleet of 24 Strider balance-to-pedal bikes, pedal conversion kits, fully adjustable student helmets, an instructor bike with pedal conversion kit and helmet, two rolling storage racks, and access to a resource portal with live support for the life of the program. Charles E. Nash Elementary celebrated the introduction of the program with a kickoff event alongside HDR representatives, who had the opportunity to build the bikes for the program beforehand.

“Only one in four children will get on a bike in a year, so learning this skill at such a young age is a tremendous opportunity,” said Luke Bathurst, HDR’s North Texas area manager. “HDR is grateful to be part of a program that promotes healthy habits and builds great memories for a lifetime.”

At Nash Elementary, this program will positively impact approximately 44 kindergarten students each year by teaching them how to ride a bike in kindergarten PE class. With a lifespan of 7-10 years for the equipment, it is estimated that up to 440 students will benefit from this initiative over the next decade.

FORT WORTH, TX — La Fundación HDR, en asociación con All Kids Bike, se complace en anunciar la expansión del programa “All Kids Bike Learn-to-Ride” para la clase de educación física de kínder en la escuela Charles E. Nash. Esta iniciativa, posible gracias a una generosa donación de la Fundación HDR, tiene como objetivo enseñar a los estudiantes a andar en bicicleta y promover habilidades esenciales para la vida.

En un acto de compromiso con la educación, comunidades saludables y el cuidado del medio ambiente, la Fundación ha contribuido con $324,000 para All Kids Bike para el ciclo escolar 2024-25. Esta donación apoyará a 37 escuelas en Estados Unidos, especialmente en áreas donde viven y trabajan empleados de HDR.
