We Celebrate Juanita Trevizo: An Example of Dedication and Community Service

With more than 24 years of service in Fort Worth ISD, Juanita Trevizo is a true example of dedication and commitment. She has spent the last four years working as a custodian at the Student Placement Center. Prior to that, she dedicated 20 years to working in the cafeteria at Washington Heights Elementary, where her greatest joy was receiving a smile from the children. "A smile in the morning makes your day," Juanita tells us, fondly recalling her time at the cash register.

Over the years, Juanita has touched many lives, not only through her professional role but also as a volunteer in her free time. As she nears retirement, her desire to continue helping remains strong. "I’m going to volunteer at a school," she said firmly. The reason? For her, it’s important to support the children who sometimes arrive at school without basic needs, like a sweater or a belt. "I understand that parents have to work, but children need us," she said with a deep sense of responsibility.

Originally from Matehuala, San Luis Potosí, México, Juanita came to the United States at the age of 17 in 1979. Today, she feels grateful to have been able to bring her family to this country and to help her community through her work in Fort Worth ISD, where her children were students, and she still has relatives attending the district.

One of Juanita’s most profound memories throughout her career was the unconditional support she received from her coworkers when she suffered a family loss. This act of solidarity left an unforgettable mark on her. With a smile and a positive attitude, Juanita approaches each day with the conviction of spreading that energy to everyone around her.

"My goal is to help the children because they always need us," she concluded with humility and determination. Thank you, Juanita, for everything you do for our staff, students, and families and for being an inspiration to all of us.

Celebramos a Juanita Trevizo: Un ejemplo de dedicación y servicio comunitario

Con más de 24 años de servicio en Fort Worth ISD, Juanita Trevizo es un verdadero ejemplo de entrega y compromiso. Actualmente, lleva 4 años trabajando como conserje de limpieza en el Student Placement Center, y antes de eso, dedicó 20 años en la cafetería de Washington Heights, donde su mayor alegría era recibir una sonrisa de los niños. "Una sonrisa por la mañana te hace el día", nos cuenta Juanita, recordando con cariño su tiempo en la caja registradora. 

A lo largo de los años, Juanita ha tocado muchas vidas, no solo en su rol profesional, sino también como voluntaria en su tiempo libre. Cuando llegue el momento de su retiro, su deseo de seguir ayudando no se detiene. "Me voy de voluntaria a una escuela", comenta con firmeza. ¿La razón? Para ella, es importante apoyar a los niños que, en ocasiones, llegan a la escuela con necesidades básicas, como un suéter o las cintas de sus tenis desamarrados. “Entiendo a todos esos padres que tienen que trabajar, que tienen miles de responsabilidades, pero los niños nos necesitan”, dice con un gran sentido de responsabilidad.

Originaria de Matehuala, San Luis Potosí, México, Juanita llegó a Estados Unidos a los 17 años, en 1979. Hoy se siente agradecida por haber podido traer a su familia a este país y ayudar a su comunidad a través de su trabajo en Fort Worth ISD, donde sus hijos fueron estudiantes y aún tiene familiares que asisten al distrito.

Uno de los recuerdos más profundos de Juanita en su trayectoria fue el apoyo incondicional que recibió de sus compañeros cuando sufrió una pérdida familiar. Este gesto de solidaridad le dejó una huella imborrable. Con una sonrisa y una actitud positiva, Juanita enfrenta cada día con la convicción de contagiar esa energía a todos los que la rodean.

"Mi meta es ayudar a los niños, porque ellos siempre nos necesitan", concluye con humildad y determinación. Gracias, Juanita, por todo lo que haces por nuestra comunidad y por ser una inspiración para todos nosotros.
