FWISD Provides Last-Minute College Help With "Summer Link"

What: The Summer Link Program

When: This event will occur between June and August

Where: All traditional Fort Worth ISD high schools

Fort Worth, Texas – Many high school graduates who are accepted into college never actually enroll in school. Part of the reason is the decisions and work associated with housing applications, financial aid needs and additional required documentation for enrollment. Fortunately, studies have shown that with just a little extra support during the summer prior to college, there can be a positive impact on the number of students who actually complete enrollment.

To help provide that needed support, the Fort Worth ISD sponsors a program called Summer Link. Through personal phone calls and emails, Summer Link provides personal outreach to recent graduates to ensure they have the resources needed for a successful transition into postsecondary success.

Prior to graduation, students will be provided with a postcard with their Summer Link advisor’s contact information.

Students who misplace their postcard can also contact Academic Advisement at 817-814-2575.
