How Important Are FWISD Nurses? Let Us Count the Ways
National Nurses Week, a weeklong celebration honoring the work of licensed health-care professionals who care for the sick and injured, is being observed across the United States May 6-12.
The Fort Worth ISD appreciates the work our nurses do to keep those around them well.
Here’s just a few stats on the nurses that keep our more than 86,000 students healthy daily:
There are 130 school nurses employed by the Fort Worth ISD
The District’s nursing staff has a combined 1,126 years of experience
Our more than 100 nurses are spread out across 131 schools
An interesting fact about our nurses is that they are really committed and dedicated to their job and strive to keep our students and staff as healthy as possible, according to the Health Services Department
The Fort Worth Board of Education will celebrate our District nurses with a special recognition at its next meeting, Tuesday, May 8.
