FWISD Athletes Advance to UIL State Finals

Four Fort Worth ISD student-athletes are advancing to the University Interscholastic League State Meet in cross country, November 3.mypost

Whit Dennis, of Paschal High School, is making his second consecutive trip to the state finals after finishing 10th in the Region I 6A meet. Patrick Estes, his teammate, finished 12th and is an individual Top 10 qualifier for state, said Todd Vesely, FWISD executive director of Athletics.

Eduardo Lopez, of Diamond-Hill Jarvis High School, becomes the first student-athlete in recent history to represent his school in the state meet after finishing seventh in the Region II 4A boys’ race.

Carlos Vellejo, of North Side High School, finished fifth in the Region I race, qualifying him for state. 

The UIL Cross Country State Meet is set for Saturday, November 3 in Round Rock.
